Game Keeps Crashing

I need help some help, I recently installed Bitdefender Total Security 2012 on my computer. Ever since I installed it there seems to have been an issue where it keeps causing a game I play FFXI to happen to crash. I have read multiple forums and added exceptions to bitdefender to allow the game to play but the problem still persists. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
