Spam Settings In Bis 2013

Has anyone else had this experience?

After I installed BIS 2013 (after some years of Kaspersky) Bitdefender deleted several new Outlook messages and treated another 40 or so new messages as spam. These messages were then virtually unreasable. When I try to turn the spam guard off I get an error warning.

Can anyone offer a solution so that I don't continue to lose mail?
