Infostealer.BZUP Problem!

Options

Here just resently, well just two days ago while a friend of mine was surfing the net she some how ended up with the infostealer.BZUP virus on her computer. She asked me if I could help get it off the computer and while not being any kind of expert I do offer to help.

First thing I did was look up just what an infostealer.bzup virus was and what it did and in doing so found out it actually steals financial information off the infected computer, that is of course you have any.

I found two ways to get it off the computer, 1 being manually deleting various registery values that were part of the virus and 2 using a virus program like BitDefender.

Being lazy I chose the latter and used BitDefender as recommended however, once the scan had completed it made no reference to having found this infostealer.bzup virus.

So I thought I'd read up a little more about BitDefender and that's when I came across this forum and thought I'd post here in hopes I could get help with this problem.

Thanks

    Hi carib

If you want that a signature is added to the database. Then you have to archive the parts and registry keys of the infection in a passwordprotected archive. With the following password: "infected" and add it to your next post so virus researchers can add it to the database.

Counterspy is able to detect and remove it. So in the meantime I suggest that you download a free trial :
