[resolved] Visual Studio 2012 Debug Issue
Hello,
I'm posting here after I've opened a ticket at Bitdefender support team in case someone has already solved this issue.
The issue:
On a Windows 7 x64 machine, BD IS2013 is preventing Visual Studio 2012 debugger to work properly when trying to debug a C# solutions created in Visual Studio 2010 and set to platform 'Any CPU'.
Please see attached captures of the error messages
Important Notes:
1. This did not happen on a NEW solution created directly on VS2013 (that is by default targeting 'Any CPU'.)
2. The problem won't appear if changing the target platform from 'Any CPU' to 'x86'
I've currently uninstalled Bitdefender IS2013 and replaced it with an evaluation version of another Interner Security product not from Bitdefender.
I hope that a solution will be found before the evaluation period of the install product will end.
Thanks.

Hello
Welcome to the forums!
Have you tried to create exclusions for that software?

I also tried disabling all options. and also that didn't solve the problem.
Only uninstalling BD solved this issue.0 -
Hello
In this case, let's set Active Virus Control to off and test if this temporary solves the issue.
Open please the main interface using the desktop icon and click on Settings. Access the Antivirus category and select the Shield tab.
From there, please set Active Virus Control to off and reboot your PC.
Let me know if everything is OK after.

Hello,
I've disabled every possible option on my notebook including AV, FW, Privacy, etc. and rebooted the machine and it still didn't solve the problem.

I encountered the same issue. Upgraded my development box to Windows 8 and Visual Studio 2012. As soon as I installed Bitdefender I could no longer open VS projects due to the debugger error. Removed it and all was well. I also tried disabling everything, and can confirm it does not resolve the issue.
Only a complete uninstall fixed it.0 -
Hello
In order to further investigate this issue, we will first need to set the BitDefender Update on Prompt so the changes will not be reverted upon auto updating. Please follow the steps below:
1. Set the Bitdefender Updates on prompt;
2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode.
4. Browse to:
C:\Windows\System32\drivers folder.
5. Locate the file "avc3.sys"and rename it into "avc3.sy_";
6. Restart the computer in Normal mode;
7. Once the product will want to Update, please make sure to select only the "Signatures update" option and not the Product Update one, as that will replace the file you renamed in Safe Mode;
8. Check if the issue still occurs.
NOTE:
If you are not seeing the file extensions please go to Start -> Control Panel -> Folder Options -> View tab -> uncheck the option "Hide extensions for known file types".
[how to set BitDefender updates on prompt]
- open BitDefender GUI;
- click on 'Settings';
- go to 'Update';
- select 'Prompt before downloading' under Update processing rules.
- click on 'Home';
[How to restart in Safe Mode]
- Restart the computer (Windows Start button - Turn Off - Restart);
- Press the 'F8' key several times before Microsoft Windows begins to load; you need to press 'F8' until you will be displayed a text menu;
- Select 'SAFE MODE' in the text menu and press 'Enter';
- Wait while Windows loads in Safe Mode; this process ends with a confirmation message; click 'OK' to acknowledge.
Please let us know if the above steps resolved the issue or it still persists.
Looking forward to your answer!

Just downloaded and updated BD IS and now it is working.
As I didn't make any changes on my side of the system, I guess one of the updates of BD had the solution.0 -
