Bd-is2013: Firewall Setting For "deny All"

Hello bitdefender-support,

Hello community,

in BD2011IS and before it was possible to set the firewall-setting to "Deny all trafic". All requests was blocked without message or other user-interaction, when no entry was founded in application-filter-rules.

I want to allow only certain applications access to certain computers or the Internet, it was for me the easiest way to manage a positive-list, and the rest of requestes (inbound & outbound) will be blocked with "deny all trafic".

I skiped BD2012IS and have now updated directly to BD2013IS.

Now I look on the new surface, which to me is for my taste a significant setback, the "deny-all-trafic" option in firewall-configuration.

Several experiments with "paranoier mode" and "Auto-Pilot" could not restore the old function.

Who has tips for me?

Best greeting from germany (and sorry for my bad english)

Matthias

    Hi Matthias :)

I know this may not answer all your questions, but it may give you a start of, "ok, now how do I..." ^_^

There has been some discussion here about some of the things we liked, and missed form the 2011 version, so you are not alone on that front. Yet, they do, and have made, some really nice changes in 2013 version, as I'm sure you'll find out. Here is a link to get you started:

You can change an existing rule by using the above link instructions (Firewall/Settings), then, Application Rules/click on the + next to the one you want to change, which will expand to open the network connection, and double click it to open the settings box, or, click on the now highlighted Edit button below the rules window.

Hope this gets you started :)
