Bitdefender Total Security 2013 Setup Problems

Hello,

since I've had very good experience using Bitdefender in the past, I decided it was time to give it another try.

But I just can't get the setup to properly install bitdefender. I've already used a lot of the tips given on this forum, but nothing seems to work.

First of all; I'm almost 100% sure it is no due to an old installion. About a month ago I fully reinstalled my Laptop and since the last time I've used BitDefender I've upgraded from XP to Windows 7 and now my OS is Windows 8 Release Preview.

This is what I've tried so far;

Run the BitDefender_Uninstall_Tool.exe

Run the BD2013_Uninstall_Tool

Using the offline kit bitdefender_ts_2013_64b.exe instead of bitdefender_tsecurity.exe

Uninstalled Advanced System Optimizer

Uninstalled Advanced Uninstaller Pro

Disable Windows Firewall

Disable Windows Defender

Signed out from my microsoft account mischakatoen@******.com, switched to a local account given Administrator rights

Run AVG uninstall tool (not that I used AVG anti-virus,, but I've had a toolbar installed which accidently came with another installation)

so just to be sure

Run Troubleshoot compatibility

and maybe even some other things. So as a computer newbie I can say I've come to the conclusion that it's not gonna work.

I really hope someone on this forum can help me out because I'm eager to try out the new version (especially after reading all the positive reviews)

Thanks in advance!

Mischa

    Add;

    Disable Windows Defender and disable Windows 8 Defender Service startup C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MsMpEng.exe). Changed the folder path name to prevent files from executing.

    Run in safe mode.

    no success

  • Why do you guys make this stuff so ###### hard? I'm sure a lot of people run the update / installer without a problem But man, I've questioned around a bit and a LOT of people complain about bitdfender not working, not installing, not updating and so on. :/
