Love & Hate

I'm not much of a programmer but I do coordinate a network of over 300 machines and I have tried many different products..... I have found BitDefender to be the most problem free up until this new product 2008.... there are a couple of issues that I find problematic.

1. Sometimes the path to updates are "deleted" - and product must be re-installed to enter the paths againg - this is the problem with many issues on updateing - I have found that a problem exists on the registration.... it is repetitive and causes problems on re-boot.

2. Another issue is a full scan - I am getting errors of "password protected items" these are bothersom messages usually on graphics of applications - buttons, action buttons etc. - the areas are NOT password protected but the software applications are in conflict with BitDefender's scan.

Now I know it is not easy finding a product that fits everything..... but I did not have these issues before the new 2008 product..... Ok, so something changed.....

Anyone, else with the same issues???.... cures???

I still like this product over anything else, for the money, ease of use and for the most part problem free on the various units installed......

    Hello JvK,

For the first problem: I didn't really understand what you mean. Could you please be more specific and give some more details about this issue?

About the second problem: Again, I'm sorry, but I didn't understand exactly what you mean.

The password-protected files detection is a known problem. Please check out this topic about it: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=3584

But what I didn't really understand is what you mean by

messages usually on graphics of applications - buttons, action buttons etc. - the areas are NOT password protected but the software applications are in conflict with BitDefender's scan.
If the above link doesn't answer your question, please provide more details.

    Cris.

P.S.: If it's easier, you could post a screenshot of the issues. :)
