Just Installed Is 2008 -

I'm a former webroot customer that went over to Bitdefender. I guess I should have read these forums.

I installed yesterday and so far everything is running well.

I have had several hangs where scans are running and my PC is frozen. Latest one was the daily scan hung on a system restore file. I deleted the logs because I did have a very serious trojan.

I also saw the Windows certified popups - no big deal.

I hope people that DO have the product and have no issues are not posting messages.

Yes, it's true that there are users which have all kind of problems with BD, from different causes (I don't want to discuss this things here). I use BitDefender IS 2008 as well, and I haven't had any trouble with it. I don't have any interest in lying you. Any way, if you ever have any kind of trouble related to BD or IT security, don't hesitate to post it here.

I did notice IS 2008 has an issue on 1 of my PC's where the defragmenter won't start. Any ideas?

Please give more details about this. What application are you using to defragment your HDD?

Check if the service that your defragger needs is running to do that go to start,run,type services.msc press enter. The service or services that you need have the name of the product or from the developper. To give an example diskeeper is related to diskeeper that service should be running. If not left click on it and press on start. But you need to be more specific. Which tool are you using? You can also exclude the installation directory by doing this open BitDefender Security Center press on settings,antivirus,exceptions, press on the add icon (which looks like a folder with a - sign),choose a path not to be scanned now follow the steps and navigate to the installation directory by pressing on browse,press on add,next,finish
