Bitdefender On Apple Mac

First I want to state that I am disappointed that Windows users are entitled to phone support, but Mac users even though they pay for the product as well, are not entitled to phone support.

But on to my question - Once bitdefender is installed in the Mac environment is the real time /shield service always running even when the bitdefender gui is closed? There is no indication of it running unless you actually open the application gui. Once the app is open its says shield is running but I have no indication its running when I close the gui.
