Bitdefender Free Version?

I've recently downloaded free version, and i was wondering after scanning and it finds something, and it says disinfection failed thus it moves the file.... how do i delete it?

when i go onto the bitdefender website it says that removal is to let bitdefender disinfect the files for u but now its failed? so what do i do?

by the way the thing is:

MWS is probably Malware Software. Try and scan with another scanner.

MWS stands for MyWebSearch, which is an adware.

Disinfection, as you think about it, is not possible is many cases. A file can be disinfected only in case it was infected by a so-called FILE INFECTOR malware (and even in those cases, it's not guaranteed that disinfection is successful).

Most of the times, disinfection means deleting the infected files. In your case, it wasn't deleted, but it was moved to Quarantine (because this was how BitDefender is set, by default). You can change the settings from the Scan Properties.

So, as I said, the file was moved to Quarantine. Practically, it's not where it was before, but in a secure location, where it is encrypted and only BitDefender has access to it. So your computer is absolutely safe. To fully remove the infection, open BitDefender, go to Antivirus -> Quarantine, select the file and click Delete (it should be a small button, with a minus ("-") sign on it).
