Malware Scanner Not Completing

markola
edited January 2022 in Mobile Security

Malware scanner checks server fine on 3g but fails consistently when connected by wifi!

Every other app that needs to connect via wifi does so just fine

I have a wildfire s a510e

android version 2.3.7

Mod version CynogenMod-7-20120717-UNOFFICIAL-Marvel

rooted (of course).

I can still complete scans but I have to turn off wifi first and it's a pain.

I read previous posts where this was a problem that had been fixed by updates but no mention (I may have skimmed) of the cause.

Thanks

  • Hello ,

There is probably a setting in your router that blocks the communication with our cloud services.

Could you please try and see if you can access https://nimbus.bitdefender.net via your phone's browser. The page should not be blocked and you should see a page with "Bad request" written in it.

If that is the case please check your settings on your router.

Thank you Daniel, it does indeed say "Bad Request". Need to figure it out now, but thanks to you I know where to look.

    Thank you

I don't no what to do next, searched the net but no joy, I've got a DGN1000

N150 Wireless Modem Router. Possibly I could add an exception to the router firewall? but wouldn't know what to put in there?

  • Ok , well if it says "Bad request" I'll get back to you on Monday ( when I get back at the office ) and I'll give you a debug APK to install.

It will produce a txt file on your device with more details.

Please send a PM with your email address and we will continue this via email.

    Best regards ,

    Daniel.

  • No problem

No, I have not. I didnt know there was a feature in PCTIS, I will look for and run this operation.
