Windows 8 Action Center

I have upgraded to Windows 8. Two problems arose with Bitdefender Internet Security 2013.

1. Autoscan would not turn on. This was cured by uninstalling and reinstalling Bitdefender as has already been mentioned somewhere on the forum.

2. The Windows Action Center says that there is no Firewall, Antivirus or Spyware/Unwanted software protection. I have not managed to resolve this. I carried out a repair install even though I just removed, reinstalled and updated to the latest build number (16.24.0.1682). The problem still persists after a few computer restarts.

I know Bitdefender is working OK because everything is in place and I can see it listed in Task Manager.

Anything else I can try to get Bitdefender to register as it should with the Action Center?
