I have been having same problem on family member's PC as some other posters

I had them run spysweeper, then vundofix...

then based on another thread, I had them run Rogue Remover and didnt find anything, then ran Superantispyware and found like 150 trojans and 400 or so adware. They removed then rebooted and it still keeps finding like 15-20 things that it doesnt seem to remove.

Here is now the current HJT log, thanks for any assistance:

  • Hi,

I did not understand what you mean by having the same problem as other posters. What I see is that you are having a Trojan dropper or may be more malware who are hiding themselves from HJT log. Frankly I think removing the infection is a temporary solution as long as you don't have a decent antivirus and firewall installed on your PC.

  • I'm sorry originally we were getting popups with NT_Kernel Error 1256, also had the Help and Support and the other icon that was pointing to that website, something that was creating 300 WUABOOT.exe processes, etc..... so now its down to like 13 things being found by Superantispyware and that was the HJT log done after all the other steps done.

  • It is clear to me now.

Yet I think nowadays you are not totally safe even when you have a good AV and firewall, because the bad guys are constantly using their brain to find new ways of attacking, and when you don't have a good line of defense you are an easy target.

As the situation now it may be soothing to think you have 13 items, firstly they will come back again after every reboot or after using Internet, the malware can download things without you even notice. Secondly even if you get clearance from Superantisyware it doesn't mean your PC is clean. It means your PC is clean from those malware which are known to Superantisyware. So I believe spending much time on cleaning is a waste of time when you have no AV or firewall to protect you after cleaning.
