Bitdefender 2013 Incompatibility With Windows Update Kb890830
On Win 7 Pro x64, just a heads up: BitDefender IS 2013 screws up the December 2012 Windows Update for MS Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 (KB890830).
To fix the problem and get the update to install once you've already screwed it up, you can do a system restore to an earlier point (must do the system restore from Safe mode). This has the unfortunate consequence of screwing up the BitDefender install (Active scanner will be disabled) but you should then be able to install the above Windows update.
However, upon doing the BitDefender Repair, it's still not 100%, as Sandbox will now no longer launch a protected browser window.
I have duplicated these results on two separate, fully-patched and updated Windows 7 Pro x64 machines. I will see if a complete uninstall of Bitdefender 2013 and reinstall fixed the Sandbox issue, because a simple repair did not.
But, to sum up, BitDefender, figure out how to make your program work better with Win 7 Pro x64. This type of incompatibility with prior Windows Updates for MS Malicious Software Removal Tool was reported on the forums at least once before with BitDefender IS 2012. The fact that BitDefender reports all is well while a key function (sandbox) is not working does not inspire confidence in your product.

Hello,
Could you please tell me if this issue persists with the new build version 16.28.0.1763?
(right click on Bitdefender icon from system tray-near the clock-and choose "About". You should see in the left side the build number).
In order for the product update to be installed, you need to reboot your machine(you should see in the Events -> "Reboot required" under the Update module).
