The exact size of the update is the one from Total.
In the update process, if the connection is lost, some files are retrieved one more time.

The connection was not lost while updating. And if it does then whats the "time out" for retrying the retrieving of that particular file that failed at that moment of connection lost? I am sure that is not the case, because it also means that when the new files get downloaded that was previously failed to download due to connection lost, its information is not deleted and Bitdefender still keep that junk file information. Its update process issue not the connection.
