I can easily terminate "Bitdefender 60-Second Virus Scanner" process named "pdiface.exe" from Windows Task Manager. There is no Self-Defense. Is that normal?

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1, 32bits

To me,no.I can termenate it from APLICATIONS directly.NO need to find the process.

WHAT if a virus, worm or other malwere wants to terminate it?

It's only for non agresive viruses.I think ?

It's more a gadget .An online-scan is better ,i think, even it takes more time.

A comvenient Self-Defense is done by loading some drivers and DLL's as i looked at Malwerebyte's Cameleon.

As this tool needs instalation so it can't be hard to add them to the instaler.

  • Hello,

Bitdefender 60-Second Virus Scanner doesn't offer protection for his processes by design.

  • Besides I don't remember ever seeing a virus scanner with such a feature.

It's just not a virus scanner task IMHO
