Update

Three days ago I purchased the product key for an eveluation version that I had downloaded a few days earlier. However, I seem to have 2 problems that I can't resolve:


1) I change the setting from English- United States to English-United Kingdom but when I re enter the site it has reverted back.


2) Much more worrying is that since I have installed the product it has not done an update from the front panel. It keeps looking for updates but comes up with the message 'update encountered an error'. The problem seems to be that the software is not able to connect to the server (HTTP://upgr-mmxiii.cdn.bitdefender). I am worried that the software is not keeping up with the latest updates ans is leaving my pc vunerable. I am quickly losing confidence in what appeared to be a superior product. My pc is running on windows 7.


I would also like to add that I paid for BD total security, it says that it is 2013 when I open the front console but in my products (my account) it shows as 2012!

  • First make sure your internet connection is working.


    Delete your version that you downloaded.


    Now follow this link and select and down load the version you paid for.

  • Hi. I'm also having a problem with updating.


    1) As COURIERAL ha encountered, I cannot change my country from USA to UK (a minor detail)


    2) I installed BD on two computers the day before yesterday. Both show auto updates as turned off. When I try to turn them on, they revert to 'off' when I turn BD console off and then on again. There appears to be a backlog of 9Mb for the update. I have attached a screenshot of the console.


    3) My other computer has the Windows security warning telling me the virus and malware detection is turned off. However, BD tells me there is nothing wrong. Whether or not this is due to the update problem, I don't know.


    Both OS are Vista SP2.

  • Hi. Just to say that problems 2 & 3 seem to have cleared themselves! Problem 1 still there though.
