Have a nice day!0 -
Since a week my PC slowed down enormously..
Bootime 257 seconds.
I removed Bitdefender Internet Security and replaced it by MS Security.
Boottime now: 50 secs which is normal..
So why takes Bitdefender more than 200 secs ?????
Okay, so I'd ask what Windows O/S version?
Also, take a look at this. https://www.soluto.com/ it can help diagnose start up performance issues. Download the trial and give it a shot. My Windows 8 Systems are all from Window Logo to Start screen below 15 seconds. The worst is an old Toshiba laptop and all of them have BD 2013 TS on them.0 -
Hello renso,
Please let me know if the issue persists with the latest build version 16.28.0.1789
(right click on Bitdefender icon from system tray-near the clock-and choose "About". You should see in the left side the build number).
In order for the product update to be installed, you need to reboot your machine(you should see in the Events -> "Reboot required" under the Update module).

I am sorry to say but my I am affected by this issue too. Browsing the net is horrifically slow with some sites taking upwards to 30+ seconds to load while others take 3 to 5 seconds. I have tried editing the settings as mentioned in the various threads talking about this problem and still no luck. If I completely uninstall bitdefender, my browsing experience is back to being fast and quick. I recently left Avast antivirus and am sorry I did not renew my subscription with them. Instead I purchased a 2 year subscription for bitdefender. I must admit I am not happy with the effect bitdefender has on my ethernet traffic.

Georgia,
I have the build version you mentioned above in your post to renso. The Bitdefender 2013 anti-virus has completely bogged down my older Toshiba Satellite 100 laptop. It has 1 G of memory a 1.86 GHz intel centrino processor and is running Windows xp sp3. Before installing Bitdefender it was running fine with microsoft security essentials. I adjusted the bitdefender scan options to be the most permissive and even so the system was very slow. Is there anything else I could do that would enable bitdefender to provide reasonable performance? Otherwise, as requested in my other post, I would like to uninstall bitdefender in a way that I don't lose the license and can install it on a different computer.

I just wanted to update my comments from before. We have switched back to Avast.
