Privacy - Data Protection

In BitDefender Internet Security 2013, Privacy/Data Protection does NOT work at all. I've created several test strings and played with the settings, including making sure that the feature button is in the ON position, but it fails to detect the strings in IE, Chrome and Windows Live Mail. Any ideas/suggestions? TIA.
