I filled out a request for support for help on an issue regarding "alerts" and it created a file on my desktop, but it did not tell me where to send the file or what to do with it.

The file on your desktop is the Bitdefender Support Tool archive (the diagnostic tool which gathers product related information. It helps the Bitdefender Technical Support team to identify the issues that occured on your system and to provide a solution).

Please let me know what issue are you currently encountering with the Bitdefender product so I can further assist you. You are welcome to post a screen shot displaying the situation.
