Won't Update Bitdefender Plus V10
Hi
I have vista now and my copy of bitdefender kept coming up with an error message saying it had stopped working so I decided to uninstall it and try the free avg but then decided to install my paid for bitdefender back on the computer, now I find it won't update and just hangs before getting an error message.
I have have had a quick search and down loaded the reg cleaner which I used and also used cc cleaner, rebooted installed again still no luck, I have also been into windows firewall and made sure bitware is allowed through and also actually tried the update with windows firewall down for a bit. I have no other virus software running and just windows firewall at the mo.
This all started with my bitware has stopped message in vista now I have made it worse is there anything else I can try?
Thanks

Yup, you can.
1. I would not have recommended the Anti-Virus Plus v10 to protect my Vista or XP systems.
2. If you can, upgrade to BDIS or BDTS 2008
3. Download the BD Uninstall tool – from either one of these locations
http://www.bitdefender.com/uninstall
http://kb.bitdefender.com/KB333
4a. - Uninstall the current BitDefender Plus v10 and re-boot
4b. - After the re-boot, run the BD Tool to clean it up – and re-boot
5. Install the BDIS or BDTS 2008 – and that should fix the issues and problems.
Just remember to read the installation instructions carefully before you do install the BD.
