I'm a new user of Bitdefender. One thing that is puzzling is the lack of a "About" or version string in the program. Normally an application has a Help choice to display the internal version of the app. I haven't been able to locate that in the Bitdefender 2013 AV plus that I use. Does Bitdefender automatically update itself to a new release when it comes online or does a user have to manually update their software ?

Also does Bitdefender offer a download of the full installer, instead of the stub that starts the installation process ?

Usually, when major udpate/build occurs, one of us here posts the new build version in the Update sub forum. There is a Pinned topic that will come shortly after a major update (changelog) that will let us know what was added or improved. http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=35498

All updates, and build updates come via Automatic update, there is no separate update for build and virus signature updates, they're both done through the same updater.
