Bitdefender Slowed Down My Computer!

Dear,


I just bought and installed Bitdefender Internet Security 2013 on my Dell, and instantly it turned the computer slow.


My boot time was always about 15-18s, now it is 55+.


I'm not a newbie and the system was with a clean instalation, only Windows, Office, iTunes and Bitdefender, with no garbage on startup for instance.


On startup aplications the status for Bitdefender resident program is HIGH, all others is low or medium.


Just for example, my laptop runs Adobe Lightroom 5 (instaled only yesterday) smoothly, as well many other programs, as Chrome with dozens tabs opened.


Hope you can help fast to solve this situation, or I almost (for now) prefer the risk and come back to Windows Defender.

    Hi GRM177, and welcome :)


    What are your settings in Bitdefender as far as On-access scanning, and Active Virus Controls?


    Also, you can try adding those programs that may be loading or running slow to exclusions, and see if that helps: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=35502

    Apologies, Grm177, if it is just a slow start up issue, and not a slow program loading issue. Otherwise, the above post can help for programs/software slowdowns.
