Installation Problems Free Bd Antivirus 2013

Just a quick message to say that I have finally succeeded in installing the free version of BD 2013 (Total Security 2013).
I must say the process was anything but seemless. I had the worst difficulties uninstalling the previous version, the installer kept telling me I had a previous version installed. Then it confimed the installation was complete but BD was nowhere to be found on my computer.
Finally, after the "nth" attempt / reboot at uninstalling / installing, the BD installer finally got its ample posterior in gear.
Everything seems correctly installed now and seemingly works.
One problem, however. I believe this forum states somewhere that the installer automatically detects the existing installation key. That was not the case for me. I had to go on BD's website and into my account, retrieve the key and install it manually.
God, I hope this is it now and that BD will no longer harrass users with unwarranted malware false positives, or at least give the user the possibility to override them. This is the only reason I chose to install the free update hoping that it will solve these very annoying and chronic issues.
It is a shame, BD is generally speaking a very good product but this whole process has been an end-user's nightmare. At one point, I was literally seconds away from blowing a gasket and calling it quits on BD once and for all.

This thread is for Bitdefender AV Free Edition.
This product doesn't need a key to work so I believe you are confusing the two products.
Please reffer to the specific section of the forum.0
