[solved] Popup After Leaving Game Mode

Hello,


I have upgraded to BD AV+ 2014 version & now when exiting a game I always get a popup warning me I'm not in auto pilot mode ( i always use User mode)


I tick the don't show this again check box but it appears again when exiting a game.


I have all my game exe files in the the games list section.


Can this be fixed please.

  • Have went back to BD AV+ 2013 due to issues with the new version.


    My frame rate in games dropped with the 2014 version even though game mode was on & exe files added to games list, also the HD light was always flashing during play with 2014 version, with 2013 it only did that when loading the game or levels (nothing to do with streaming textures etc)


    Will try 2014 in a few months after the bugs are ironed out.

    I see there is a another thread about the popup after exiting a game which has been ignored.


    Any one else noticing a framerate hit even though game mode is on & the game's exe files added to list?

    Thank you for reporting this.


    In The New Bitdefender, having the User Mode notification when exiting game mode is a 'fad' (functions as designed). The purpose is to remind the customer about switching to Autopilot.


    However, the fact that the check-box option is not saved, takes me to the conclusion that some Bitdefender files were not installed correctly on the system.


    To further investigate it, please post here a support tool log gathered while you managed to replicate this issue.


    In The New Bitdefender, the support tool executable "supporttool.exe" is found in this location:


    C:\Program Files\Bitdefender\Bitdefender


    Run "supporttool.exe" (right click on "supporttool.exe" and choose "Run as Administrator" if you have Windows Vista/7/8 ).


    Fill in the required fields, check the box "I want to reproduce the issue" (now take all the actions to replicate the encountered issue).


    When the progress bar gets to the end click "Finish". A new archive will appear on your desktop. The name starts with "BDSP_....".


    You may not be able to upload the archive here as it's too big so you can put it on www.sendspace.com or any other file hosting site and post the download link.

    Any chance Georgia or another mod can respond to my issues with BD AV+ 2014?


    Just because I went back to AV+ 2013 doesn't mean the issues I had can be ignored, I want to try 2014 version again but I need to know if the issues are or will be resolved.


    1) Popup after exiting a game that advises me that I'm not in auto mode ( I use user mode)


    2) Ticking the "Don't show this again" box has no effect & the popup will appear again after running & exiting a game.


    3) The frame rate hit in games (Dead Island Riptide, Bioshock Inifinite, Dishonored etc) which means the games go from silky smooth (AV+ 2013) to very stuttery (AV+2014) when looking about.


    It seems my issues are being ignored but you can spam me with a huge ad that wants me to upgrade to AV+2014?


    Edit thank you for the reply Georgia but I'm not going to go through the hassle of removing AV+1013 & my firewall just to install AV+2014 for a log file then have to reverse the process.


    The program was installed correctly & was working fine other than the above issues. Even tried a repair install just in case but same issues.

    Well I uninstalled BDAV+ 2013 & rebooted, ran the new Bitdefender cleanup tool & rebooted again then installed BDAV+2014 & did a full system scan to build the cache, added my games to the games list.


    Played a bit of Dead Island Riptide & it was very stuttery in most places.


    Exited the game & ran the supporttool.exe as admin & followed the steps but it crashes BDAgent & the support tool windows just sits there doing nothing & I have to kill it in Process Explorer.


    Attached is screenshot of the crash message.

    When BDAV+ 2014 opens chrome (my default browser) just after the install has finished it causes all chrome extensions to crash constantly & chrome wouldn't display any pages, had to reboot to get that working again.

    Hello,


    Remembering the settings - this issue should be already solved with the latest product update (build version 17.15.0.682). Please right click on the Bitdefender icon located in system tray and from the menu select "Update Now". Reboot the PC if requested, then check if the issue persists.

    For me it took about 3 times of ticking the box in order for it to take, and this was before the latest build update. My thought was that it was intentional, a way of Bitdefender reminding me of that User Mode notification just to make sure I knew what I was doing...i.e. cp. to one tick and done, making sure of what I was checking and saving (there is no UI un-do option). I no longer get that pop up.

    I don't know about you, Pushkar, but in this case I didn't mind that it took 3 times, as it was a reminder that I would want to make sure of, as I couldn't get it back. Maybe 2-3 times is ok?


    Now if it was a Paranoid Mode Firewall pop up that I was continually getting for a on board installed software (other than internet browsers accessing web pages), then I would probably get a bit more frustrated.
