Critacal Error

I just updated Bitdefender Internet Security to the latest version. It keeps crashing with a "critical error". I can restart it through the error screen but this keeps happening--looks like every time Bitdefender tries to do anything. What good is a virus program that keeps crashing? Any ideas on fixing this?

    Just a couple of things that could help.


    Did you previously have an AV solution and use their uninstall tool, and looked for and deleted any remnants?


    Could you provide an image capture of the critical error message?

    I apologize, did you mean you had a different year of Bitdefender installed, then upgraded to the 2013 version, or The New Bitdefender? If so, then my question of a previous (different vendors) AV was inaccurate.


    If you did upgrade from one years version to the next of Bitdefender, I would suggest to uninstall the version installed, and the previous version using the uninstall tools, then re-install the newer version. When upgrading to a new year product, it is better to uninstall the previous years version, for a better, cleaner (and hopefully without issues) install.
