I've just installed Bitdefender for Mac. It has detected the following: Trojan.******.6057 but says it can't quarantine or delete. How can I deal with this please?

Thanks

I hope this wasn't a stupid question to have asked. It would be appreciated if someone knows the answer to let me know. Thanks.

    Hi Horsham Hector, and welcome.

No, not a stupid question, especially when it involves a possible trojan. Unfortunately, the support here on the forum has been behind for awhile. If you wanted to post this thread in the Malware Forum to see if it gets a better response, may help (even though that forum too looks a little behind as of late)

I'm not sure if other Support options could help, but here is that link just in case: http://www.bitdefender.com/support/contact-us.html

Hope this helped in some way,

    Scott

    Thank you Scott. Appreciated.

  • Strangely, I've re run the scan and now the Trojan.******.6057 fails to appear. I had attached, a portable 1TB hard drive that I'd used on my Windows PC and now I'm wondering if the trojan may be on that and that may be why the Mac Bitdefender couldn't delete or quarantine it.

What's happened to that trojan I've no idea. I did contact bitdefender support as helpfully suggested by Columbo and had a very brief live chat with support. I posed the question and was told that as they didn't know the answer, I would be contacted by email. So far nothing received. Is that an indication of poor service from Bitdefender? I'm wondering whether to ask for my money back and look elsewhere. Thoughts anyone?

  • I've disconnected the drive and now Bitdefender is showing the Trojan.******.6057 again.
