The Virus Shield service won't start on my windows 8 machine if I don't restart windows (Restart not shutdown).
Shuting down (hybrid one) won't help, after start Virus Shield service doesn't start at all I have to go into services and start it!
Happened to a lot of PCs in my office.
Update Bitdefender and afterwards do a restart.
That usually clears up the grey Bitdefender icon (service not available)
