The New Bitdefender Internet Security Versus Bis2011

I like bitdefender IS 2011 interface, options and tweaks, much more than the 2012 onward.
On a Windows 7 64bit system, does the new Bitdefender provide any extra protection/security performance more than 2011 does ?
I tried both, they seem to be equal on system footprint.
If The new Bitdefender is SO MUCH better in AV/Firewall aspects I would be fine with it, but if difference is minimal protection wise, I gladly go back to BIS2011
