Cpu Optimisation

While I applaud the BD staff for optimising BD to use just 1-5% of my i5 CPU when performing a full system scan (allowing me to use other programs too), I find it can take a long time.

Is there a way to implement a feature to voluntarily increase the CPU usage to something like 50% so the scans run and finish quicker (which would be used when not running any other programs), or is the scan time limited to something else, like hard drive speed?

  • You can go to the Task Manager, find the vsserv process, right click the process, and then "Set Priority" to increase or reduce the priority that is assigned to that process. BD also has a bdagent process running.

You might want to increase the priority of that process as well.

Hopefully someone much more knowledgeable will be able to tell whether you need to increase the priority of both services or only one of them.

Hope this helps. Have a great day.
