Some Installation Files Are Corrupt. Please Download A Fresh Copy And Retry The Installation.
Just got a new computer a day ago. Downloaded a few programs on it iobits software suite, all of the windows updates, malwarebytes, free file viewer and file type assistant, google chrome, and apache open office. Was going to finish it off with bitdefender free antivirus but when I run the download, I get the error message "Some installation files are corrupt. Please download a fresh copy and retry the installation." I've tried running the bitdefender uninstaller and have downloaded through all of the mirrors as well and I cannot get it to work. I have these programs installed on 7 other computers (xp 32bit, windows 7 32 bit, and windows 7 64bit), and the download worked just fine. This computer is a windows 7 64 bit.

Hello BLAKEFOX,
Did the computer already have an antivirus program installed? They often come with trial versions. If so that will have to be completely un-installed using the un-install program designed for that AV rather than just the windows control panel.

It is a chea.p refurbished computer. It didn't come with any sort of AV, microsoft office, ect. Has pretty much just the bare minimum in windows. Right now it doesn't have any AV or even a trial version, just the malwarebyte scanner and an iobit scanner (which I have both set up on all of my computers). I have run both to make sure there wasn't anything on my computer that would be preventing it, but they both said my computer was clean.0 -
Download a fresh copy of Bitdefender free AV from Bitdefender site on the computer you want to install it.
Run & install Bd free.
If any prob, try running Bd free with right click "run as administrator"

I had tried reinstalling it. Uninstalling usung the uninstall too, and then running the installer as an admin. Still didnt work. Oddly, I did an easy transfer from my old XP to the new windows 7 and it came over from the old computer, but it was not working properly. I downloaded it again from the same download as before (it was on my USB) and it worked? So I dont have the problem anymore, but I'm not sure why the download worked this time around.

Now I'm having the same problem again with an XP computer. I had installed it on a a different xp and windows 7 computer two days ago, but today its not working on a different xp. Its almost like every other download is giving me problems. I even used the same download on all three computers.

BLAKEFOX:
You wrote you were using the same installation file for 32 & 64 bit systems. When I installed in my laptop I used a 9.96 MB file that is only for 64 bit systems. There is also a 9.47 MB installation file for 32 bit systems. If I download from the link at the page for this software I get a 158 KB file which would download what it needs from Bitdefender's servers as it installs. I am not clear that last file is for all systems or only for 64 bit systems. I suggest you visit Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition web page from each machine you want to install and proceed to install on-line with individual downloads to be certain there is no mix of code.
