Nd Firewall
Hallo
I`m new here, so I`m not sure if this is the right place for my question.
I`ve been using BitDefender since 2005 after a big computer crash. Since then, I have no problems with malware infections, and I am very satisfied with BD`s overall performance.
Now I have two questions:
1. I`ve switched to BD Internet Security a month ago when I renewed my key. After that, I reinstalled Windows, downloaded BD IS and tried to install it, but installation failed. Then I downloaded BD Total Security Trial, and now I`m running it.
Problem here is that my registration key is not valid for BD TS and I have to roll back on BD IS for which I have a valid key for the next 11 months.
I really don`t want to open a circle of install-reinstall so I want to be sure my BD IS will be properly installed on next attempt. What should I do?
BTW; how can I export settings I have on current version to use them in next installation? It took me a nice amount of time to set the security, and I hate doing it for the third time.
2. I reinstalled Windows because they becaume slow and acting odd. When I saw in BD Firewall a question mark near rapimgr.exe and wcesmgr.exe, and several system files I was sure that there`s something wrong, but yet unknown on my computer. I run several anti-malware programs, they found some cookies, and one DataMiner. So I decided to reinstall everything.
After that, I still have those "?" and the same files. I was told that those files are legitimate and there`s no reason to worry about them. But I trust BD and when it marks something as suspicious I get very nervous.
Can anybody tell me why are those programmes marked?
Thanks
Nena

Hello Nena,
First make a new folder on a location of your choice for example on your desktop. I suppose that you know how to create a new folder? If no do this right click on a free space on your desktop choose new, folder give it a name.
To back-up all BitDefender settings you have to do the following open BitDefender by rightclicking on the red BitDefender icon that you will see near the system clock press on open advanced settings. Now press on advanced and click on the option save all settings now browse to the folder you just have created on your desktop. Now download this uninstall tool. Now right click on the red BitDefender icon near the system clock choose exit. Now run the uninstall tool. You will be asked to reboot your pc do that. Now run the installer package of BitDefender IS again or put in the installation cd-rom. If you already created a my account just fill in your existing log-in files and enter the key during the installation.
These question marks normally means that these files aren't on the location anymore. Another meaning is that some of these rules are created to allow that you can synchronize between 2 computers. So you don't have to worry about it.

Hi, Niels
I`m going to switch to BD Internet Security now. These question marks normally means that these files aren't on the location anymore. Another meaning is that some of these rules are created to allow that you can synchronize between 2 computers. So you don't have to worry about it.
Fine, now I can stop thinking about it.
Thanks for your help
