Tired Of Bd Blocking My Printer

Before I realized that it was BD causing all my printer problems I had down loaded new drivers and spent a whole day trying to get the printer to work.

I finally got the settings right completely by accident and then today the problem was back and I could not see an obvious problem in the firewall so I went back to reinstalling the printer drivers and wasting hours of my time because it wasn’t seeing the printer. :(

I went back to the Firewall and again played with the settings and adding IP addresses that were visible but I have no idea of what they went to. I finally got it to work after experimenting with the settings turning things off & on, but I have no idea what I did to fix it. Plus I don’t know if I allowed an IP that I shouldn’t have.

I have two questions”

Why is the fire wall always changing my settings and how do I stop it?

Also where can I find a comprehensive description of each setting so that I’m not just guessing?

  • One thing that you can do here is to add your printer to the firewall's exclusion list. Hope the instructions below helps you out. smile2.png

Hi hirsche, Thanks so much for answering. I almost forgot about it.

Anyway I did what you said, but when I was meet with a completely blank field in the “Exclusions files and folders” add window, I did not know what to put in it. There was nothing to select, no suggestions or help. So I went on line for help and I could not find anything to tell me what to add in the box. I need to see some examples or something to figure it out. I have to say that I’ve used BD for almost 4 or 5 years now and this may be my last year.
