How To Grant Specific Applications Specific Privledges

I'm currently using a trial version of BitDefender IS before I consider buying it.

Ever since installing it, I've noticed that a program such as AltBinz cannot automatically unrar downloaded files, nor shut down the computer when downloads complete. I'm guessing bitdefender is preventing the executable from launching other executables? Is there a way to set up a rule to allow the .exe to perform these actions? I never get any pop-ups from Bitdefender to allow/block these actions.
