Firewall "blocks" Updated Programs

This is really frustrating...

The Bitdefender firewall automatically (and correctly) adds "allow" rules for standard programs, such as realplayer, etc. However, when an update for those programs is applied, the "allow" rule isn't automatically updated for the new binary. The updated software is effectively blocked until the old (automatically created) rule is deleted and a new one added manually. Surely, if Bitdefender was ok to add the original rule automatically, it should update the rule for program updates automatically too.

These days I'm dreading keeping the software on my PC up to date because every time some standard program is updated things stop working because of the Bitdefender firewall
