how often does quick scan run? I installed total security on 7/2. The last quick scan was run 7/3, three days ago.
Do you mean "Quick Scan" or "Idle Scan"?
Quick Scan is set with a Schedule in the GUI.
Idle scan will run when it needs to and has the space to do so - ie when the computer is using few resources or it is idle for a long time. I only see an idle scan about once a week at the most. Your computer is still being protected with the Web and File Shields of course.

Bitdefender Quick Scan can run either automatically if scheduled under Antivirus panel -> Scan now -> Manage Scans -> Quick Scan -> Schedule.
Or you can run it manually by going to Antivirus -> Scan Now -> selecting Quick Scan in the drop-down menu.
