Has this been resolved for you already? I think you need to be more specific in reporting your problem so a solution could be made. Questions. 
1. What do you mean input an IP address for it to work? Is it your laptop IP or the remote IP?
2. Can you please state one example on what you're trying to do and which part is not working?
