Solved Bitdefender Free Login The Connection To The Server Has Failed

Downloaded the free version to test on a number of PC's at home. One PC would not display the login page and had the error " the connection to the server has failed"
In my case it turned out to be ssl cache issue. In testing I could not get to ssl bank sites but could get to google and youtube via ssl.
Following the steps here resolved the issue.
