  • Hiya,

You are in the 2013 forums, which version are you trying to install and what is your OS?

    Ro.

  • Was trying to install the latest total security but I have a 2013 license that is still valid. Was not sure if that would work with the 2015 one though but couldn't get past the installation.

    I am running Windows 7 64 bit

  • OK, first run the Bitdefender uninstall tool to get rid of any remnants that may be on your computer. Reboot when done.

Then download the version you want from here, http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=54672 you can use your license to activate the 2015 version. When it asks if you want to download updates say No, you can download those when you are set up.

  • I have followed your instructions but have had no luck. Still getting the blue screen at the same point as before. Tried running as administrator and it still happens. I downloaded the 64 bit version from the link you sent.

  • To ask the obvious, you have a 64bit version of Windows?

Plus, are you sure you removed the antivirus program you had previously (if other than Bitdefender) using the programs removal program, and what about other security programs you may have - anti-malware, anti-adware and anti-spyware?

  • Yes, my OS is 64 bit, Windows 7.

I removed MS Security Essentials before installing. Also disabled Windows Firewall. Have not installed any other security programs.

  • I now suggest you contact Bitdefender and ask for direct help from them. Either email bitsy@bitdefender.com or via their Facebook contact page - https://www.facebook.com/bitdefender/app_268724459959771
