Bd Has Disabled Critical System Components

Options

Hi,

I have Lenovo Thinkpad with integrated fingerprint scanner(reader) which can be set to ask for my fingerprint on boot and to log on into my Windows account.

After installing BitDefender Free AV and rebooting I can't log into my Windows account again with fingerprint scanner. The Windows login window looks different (different colors, different text - used to be "Scan fingerprint...", now is "Press Ctrl+Alt...") and scanning my finger does nothing. In essence BitDefender has disabled somehow one of the critical security features of my PC and I have no way of enabling it again. Passwords can be guessed and stolen, fingerprints not so much. And anyway - if I choose to use fingerprint or two-factor authentication on my system it's MY CHOICE. Has anyone experienced this and resolved the issue?
