Antispam Toolbar Doesn't Appear In Thunderbird

I'm new to Bitdefender, having installed Internet Security 2016 on two devices, a desktop running Windows 8 and a laptop running Windows 7. Both have the latest version of Thunderbird, where I get POP mail. Everything installed correctly on the desktop, although the Antispam toolbar is unsightly and appears not only on the main page but on each individual message. If I disable that toolbar within Thunderbird, it just shows up again on the next message to arrive. I was wondering whether I can lose the toolbar but keep the functionality, perhaps right-clicking on a spam message to tag it correctly for training purposes.

The main problem, though, is that the antispam toolbar doesn't show up at all on the laptop, which presumably means BD hasn't integrated with the e-mail program and isn't weeding out spam. I've double-checked: Antispam is activated within the BD Protection module. And I've restarted my whole system a couple of times.

Any thoughts?
