Firewall Unchecked But Still Blocks Access To Wireless Networks

Hello,

I am using BitDefender Internet Security 2008 and I have the most recent build and updates. Under settings, I have unchecked the box for the firewall as I do not want this feature. However, every time I access a wireless network, I have to go through the tedious process of telling bit defender that the new network is trusted. How can I turn off this feature? It is enough of an annoyance that I probably wont renew my licences this autumn as I sometimes access 5 or 6 networks per day. Any suggestions appreciated and thanks in advance.

Second Item - Antivirus scan exceptions - this feature is greyed out and I am unable to use this feature. Any suggestions?

  • Hello Stu593,

Here you can download the latest English built.

I recommend that you uninstall BitDefender completely by using this tool. First right click on the red BitDefender icon near the system clock press on exit. Wait till the scan activity bar disappears the same for the red BitDefender icon. Now double click on the uninstall tool you will be asked to reboot your pc do that. Now install the latest built.

Open BitDefender by right clicking on the red BitDefender icon near the system tray press on open advanced settings. Go to the firewall section navigate to the advanced tab and check the option apply the same (generic) profile to all new networks. After that go to the zones section it could be that you need to create a new zone if BitDefender firewall doesn't have created a trusted zone yet. Press the add button select browse local network and choose trusted press on ok.

    Kind regards,

    Niels
