Without more details it is difficult to say.
Is your license still active?
Try running a repair - Windows Control Panel>Programs and Features>Bitdefender>Repair. Allow it to complete and then restart your system.
Update to the latest version of Bitdefender, there have been a lot of improvements since the 2013 version - http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=59503
