Errors Installing - Falsely Detecting Kaspersky

To Bitdefender customer service.

The Bitdefender install process suffers from a fatal install error if a computer has ever had a version of Kaspersky AV installed. The install fails, falsely reporting that Kaspersky is installed, meaning the Bitdefender software cannot install. It instructs the potential customer to uninstall Kaspersky, even though Kaspersky has been uninstalled successfully. There is obviously some very faint trace of Kaspersky having been installed. Unfortunately the Bitdefender install programmers are locked onto this orphaned trace, ignoring obvious better solutions. What's worse is Bitdefender support sends potential customers on a long wild goose chase on hacking some other uninstall procedures for software that doesn't exist. I believe that Bitdefender customer service is oblivious to the magnitude of the problem they create for their potential customers. This problem has apparently been around for some time. Unfortunately the lack of attention given this problem leaves a bad taste for potential new customers to Bitdefender products. Hopefully someone in customer service will eventually figure this out. In the meantime they are costing potential new customers many lost hours in productivity following the hopeless instructions they provide for cleaning traces of Kaspersky from their systems. There is also a potential for a big window of lack of proper AV protection while they wade through the quagmire caused by the install program and resulting lack olf proper support. Not a good situation for someone relying on a vendor specializing in security to help them protect themselves from the ever greater emerging threats.

Sincerely

David
