Offline Updating ?
Hello.
New to BitDefender, and new to these forums.
I am wondering if there is a way to update virus/spyware defs offline?
I just went through a nasty ordeal with my wifes computer (she clicks and opens everything).
Luckily, I had imaged the machine at least once a year, and there was no problems going back and making a clean image.
Of course, I am doing this offline.
I have installed the Total Security 2008.
I have scanned the computer.
But, the defs are from way last year sometime.
I would really like to be able to scan with the latest defs before hooking this machine up to my router.
I know Symantec can do offline updates.
Just wondering if BD can also.
And if it can, where do I get the def files?
TIA

Hello Reaper21.
Thanx for the info.
Yeah, I have been using BD on my gaming system (XP64) for a while now.
My wifes machine was crashing, and I had to do a total reinstall of the os (XP32).
I decided to ditch my old AV and use 1 more of the BD liscenses.
Have been happy so far.0
