Mouse Button Macros Reacting Sluggishly In-game

Hi everyone,
I am using a Roccat Kone XTD mouse and have set Macros for various mouse buttons using the included software's macro manager.
When using these Macros in Windows there are no delays, the actions on click are instantaneous. Lately while playing Fallout 4 though, the Macros aren't firing reliably. I need to press the assigned mouse button several times before it starts working properly. Could this be an issues between Bitdefender Antivirus 2016 and the Roccat Kone XTD software? I have tried switching to gaming mode and adding all the .exe's from the Roccat application to the trusted applications list.
