Errorsmart A Trojan?

I read elsewhere http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=4820 that ErrorSmart causes problems. I have problems! A few days ago I downloaded a programme which was supposed to detect malware, etc. I believe it was ErrorSmart as I still have it in the Registry under Programmes. It scanned, advised me that I had a number od problems (even if all other reputable programmes told me that I had not) but would not clean the system unless I paid up! I uninstalled it but found pop-ups turning up afterwards. I discovered that the programme was still in the Startup tab of msconfig. I got rid of it there. I have been getting loads of e-mails warning me of the dangers of not buying the programme.


Anyway, even thought the computer does not seem to be working worse than before (slow), I had an event where it hung while in Suspend mode and I had to restart it. When I looked into Administrative tools I found an Error in "Ati2vag". Googling tells me that this could be a virus, and I now wonder if it has anything to do with our friend ErrorSmart.


Could anyone help?
