Manual Vs Direct Update

Hi,

On the page for downloading updates, there are many files; I have BD TS 2008, and the manual update page has only one file: weekly.exe >

So does this mean that the manual update is released only once in a week, and if you download it on the day it is released, then three days from then, you will have outdated virus signatures, and will have new ones only after a week, when the new weekly.exe is released?

I have turned off automatic updates, as I don't like anything connecting on its own to the net; of course, I can still update by opening the console and clicking the update button, which is what I do - I update once every morning, but I was just wondering if downloading an update file is the same (offers the same protection) as updating directly.

And why is it that some of the other versions have another file (cumulative.zip), what's the difference?

Thanks.

  • Manual updates are recommanded only if online update can`t be performed or if you`re not connected to the internet. If you don`t face any troubles in using online update, please continue to use it, it`s easier and safer. ;)

  • Hey, on which day of the week is the weekly.exe released? How do I know there's a new one?

  • As far as I know, Friday is the release day.
