Text Enhance Virus

I have BitDefender Total Security 2016 and Windows 8.1 . I currently am infected by Text Enhance, the words are showing up highlighted in websites and sometimes when I click on images or randomly a new window opens up with a bogus tech support. There is a pop up that can appear in general, not during browsing internet, which says that most users who have used program 'x' already have downloaded this.
I've run several full system scans and uninstalled what looks to be malicious software. The antivirus is STILL not able to overtake this virus which keeps coming back every day for the past week.
Please help.
