Bdantiransomware Blocks Office 2016

Hmmmmm. Maybe your website has been hacked. I went to the standard channels to post at https://labs.bitdefender.com/contact/

The link that says "pages" on the first line dead ends at something called nginx stating that it needs further configuration.

The supposed link on the last word in the second sentence does not exist.

Not exactly confidence-inspiring for a firm in the tech sector...

Anyway, I was interested in dbantiransomware. I am running W10 and MS Office 2016.

After I installed bdantiransomware I kept getting memory errors when I would try to open Outlook, Word or Excel (I did not try other Office products). When I exited bdantiransomware each program ran without incident. The problem was repeatable, though I did not try to replicate on other machines.

I greatly appreciate your efforts to provide protection to the public, but if it also protects us from running critical use applications I am afraid that the product has no value.

I thought you would want to know to be able to address this, and also that your web resources for normal posting do not work.

  • Hello Brucemc777,

Thank you for the report, the links have been fixed. (might need to clear cookies and cache)

As for the Ransomware tool you will have to contact my colleagues to assist you in resolving that situation : remtools@bitdefender.com
